Fused Glass Jewelry and Lamp-Worked Bead Stations in Owen Courtyard
Students of ARTS 310: Glass Art: Multicultural Uses and Designs will demonstrate their glasswork skills.
Artists Guild Sticker Design Station in the Second Floor Gallery
Student organization Artists Guild will provide materials to design and print your own sticker. Donations accepted.
Drama Department Bake Sale in the Second Floor Gallery
Students will sell baked goods to raise money to attend the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2019.
Screenings of Short Animated Films and Animatics in the Second Floor Gallery
Short works from NM 251: Motion Media will be projected onto the gallery wall.
Altered Books Exhibit in the Second Floor Gallery
Display of work from ARTS 310: Under the Covers and Between the Sheets. Students shaped, altered, used mixed-media, deconstructed and reconstructed found books to create original works of art.
Environmental Art Exhibit in the Second Floor Gallery
A collection of artwork from the ARTS 310:Environmental Art. Many pieces are inspired by and the result of a 5-day personal trash tracking assignment. Others are ephemeral art pieces with natural objects, and poems inspired by natural objects.

12:30pm - 1:30pm "The Nature of My Sublime" - Student Presentations in Owen 203
ARTS 310: The Arts & Being Human students researched conversations about, and definitions of, ‘The Sublime’ - from Longinus to today, and from artists and philosophers. Each student then created a presentation that expressed their personal ‘Sublime’. We are pleased to share a few of those presentations
2:00pm-3:15pm Short Film Screenings by Mass Communications in Owen 203
The Mass Communication department is happy to present a juried selection of student and faculty short fiction and non-fiction films.
3:45pm – 4:30pm Army of Mars Faculty Band in the Second Floor Gallery
Army of Mars invades the Second floor Art Gallery of Owen Hall to present alternative, sci-fi, folksploitation music. Guaranteed you haven't heard this before.
4:30pm – 5:00pm UNCA Belly Dancing Club Performance in the Second Floor Gallery
An Arts Fest favorite! The Belly Dance Club from UNC Asheville performs various styles of belly dance from classical Egyptian to Contemporary American Fusion.
5:15pm – 6:00pm Lounge Lizards Faculty Band in the Second Floor Gallery
Faculty Lounge Lizards are a cover band of UNC Asheville faculty, playing your favorite rock, folk, reggae, country, blues, and R&B music.
Holiday Art Sale in the S. Tucker Cooke Gallery 4-7pm
(Sale also continues on Saturday from 10am - 2pm)
A wide variety of functional and decorative pottery, drawings, prints, paintings, photography, glass and sculpture crafted by UNC Asheville students will be on sale. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Department of Art and Art History. Cash or check only.
